Dear Parents and Caregivers:
One of our food program volunteer/workers went to a public testing site over the weekend and was notified that they are positive with COVID-19. They had no symptoms. As these testing sites become more public we will find more people identified with the virus. The Vermont Department of Health has assured us that the safety measures we are taking in food preparation, packaging and delivering (masks, gloves, temperature taking, distancing, and sterilization) makes our site safe. There is no need for anyone to be quarantined and there is no need for any additional testing. This is why we have to wear our protective gear and be careful. The affected person was not involved in the kitchen with food preparation.
In an abundance of caution, we are going to close the food program down for the rest of this week. This will give us an opportunity to completely sanitize and reset the operation. Remember that the health and safety of our community always comes first. We will keep you posted. please keep in mind that this was not the recommendation of the Vermont Department of Health, but rather our desire to assure the community that we are taking extra precautions.
We appreciate your understanding and we hope to resume operations on Tuesday.
