This summer Mr. Lord is leading a series of wilderness adventures for our current 7th and 8th-graders. On eight different full-day trips, students will explore local caves, hike to the summits of some of Vermont and New Hampshire's most amazing mountains and also visit two famous swimming holes. On two trips, we'll even have the opportunity to take a trip back to Farm & Wilderness as guests for lunch!
Our first adventure was a 5-mile round trip hike up Mount Monadnock, the most climbed mountains in the world. Monadnock is the most prominent peak in Southern New Hampshire, rising just over 3000 ft. When we hit the summit, the students were stunned by the 360-degree view, under a beautiful blue sky. The group spent there time exploring mountain ponds, collecting tadpoles and crawling around in the cracks and caves.
