After our first few trips required some strenuous trail miles to get to our destinations, today’s adventures took us to three different locations and was a day to just explore and “chill” in the wild! First we visited the Plymouth Caves, located near Plymouth, VT and explored two different, below ground cave systems. While they’re not massive caverns, they allowed the students to experience true spelunking and Parley even discovered some “gold”! After we ascended from the depths, we headed over to Timberlake, one of the Farm &Wilderness Summer Camps, where again the 7th and 8th graders will return on September for their annual overnight. The staff and campers welcomed us and we enjoyed some time at the waterfront and also up at the farm, before joining them for some pre-meal magic and a hearty lunch. It was a great opportunity for the students to visit and see camp in session. After lunch we headed off to Buttermilk Falls, one of the best sets of waterfalls and swimming holes to spend the afternoon before heading home. Another great day!
