One of my most prolific readers is a 6th grade girl, who has agreed to post book reviews on behalf of the school, in an effort to entice students to read more. Her name is Bizzy Tindall and she is in Grade 6. We are dedicating a portion of our school's website to her book reviews.
The Adoration of Jenna Fox
By Mary E. Pearson
The Adoration of Jenna Fox takes place in the future. Most crops are gone and the last Polar Bear died. It is about a girl, Jenna Fox. Jenna woke up after a year-and-a-half long coma. She was in an accident and as a result she has lost most of her memory. She feels different too. Her parents show her pictures and videos of herself before the accident to try to trigger her memory. Her memories come back, but no one wants to answer her question. What happened after the accident? Then something happens that almost can't be explained. Her parents tell her the truth and it changes the way Jenna thinks about everything. She will have to keep her secret for the rest of her very long life. Meanwhile she is going to a school in the countryside. She might be able to keep her secret but if someone finds out she might die. In this great science fiction book, Jenna Fox tries to find her way in a completely new way.
