Town Challenge - Saturday, March 23, 2019
The Weathersfield Proctor Library would like to extend thanks to all who participated in last Saturday’s 8th Town Challenge. Students Zed McNaughton, Bonnie Blake, and Madeline Hill made up the student team. Staff members were Candy Fuller, Barb Martin, and Jason Larochelle. The Weathersfield School alumni who returned to do their part were Brooke McKeen, Brandon Hennessey, Morgan McKeen, and Kate Murphy. It takes a great deal of courage and love of community to rise to a challenge of this nature, no matter what the age. The School Board team, comprised of Sean Whalen, Susan Hingdinger and Kristen Bruso, ultimately won 1st place. It was a fun, often nail-biting event with 120 people present. The library is grateful for the $1458 that came in from business and individual sponsorships. This funding will be used to complete more wall book shelving that will match the original woodwork of this historic building.
Special thanks needs to go to wonderful BJ Esty for volunteering to be there throughout the evening to lend a helping hand. Her calm presence is such a gift. She was also instrumental in getting the new school sound system, which made a big difference. Brian Woodbury’s cooperative, upbeat spirit has been a blessing which continues to impress. He knows the setup so well. It is a joy to walk in to see everything in place and ready to go.
Thank you Weathersfield School!
