On Wednesday, January 16th, the 5-8 student council representatives sponsored the weekly Windsor Community Dinner that is held from 5-6pm at the American Legion hall. It was a wonderful event where the student council representatives made and served food to local community members. Although the community dinner occurs each week and is sponsored by various groups in the area, the Windsor 5-8 Student Council sponsors two events a year in the hopes of reaching out and giving back to the community that supports them. The next time the 5-8 grade student council will be hosting a dinner, there will be an opportunity for other students to participate in contributing to the food and the serving now that new representatives have experienced it themselves and can support new volunteers in learning the routine. The 5-8 middle school students with the direct support of student council representatives and their advisor, Theresa Westgate, will sponsor another community dinner on Wednesday, May 1st from 5-6pm. In the meantime, consider attending a meal sponsored by other local groups at the American Legion each Wednesday from 5-6pm.
