On Tuesday, December 4th, Sydney Walder and Chrystina Bedell , two 5th grade students from Windsor School, held a math class for interested residents at Windsor Village. They wanted to share with the seniors new ways to multiply numbers, which they knew was different from processes they had learned.
The group which signed up for the class consisted of residents in ages from 62 to 92 and came from various lifetime careers. Those present were introduced to both the "Partial Product" and "Areas Models" for multiplying.
The afternoon course was well received by everyone, and all participants remarked how professionally and well equipped Sydney and Chrystina were to teach this class. Hopefully this will be one of many opportunities for Windsor seniors to connect with their young counterparts.
Way to go Chrystina and Sydney!
