Nov. 13th Reminder

Hello WS Parents of 6-8th graders,

This is a reminder of the upcoming event on Tuesday, November 13th. All 6-8th graders from the Windsor Southeast Supervisory Union School District will be going to Windsor School to watch the movie A Girl Like Her or Screenagers. A Girl Like Her is a very powerful movie depicting bullying and cyberbullying and the negative effects that may result from these behaviors. We will be showing the school version to our students (with swear words bleeped out), but the original can be found on Amazon Prime.

The WSESU AdTeam and Superintendent Baker strongly feel that the message conveyed in the film and the subsequent panel following the film is crucial for our students to hear and understand. With that being said, it may bring out some powerful emotions. To support our students, we will have small group discussions back at Weathersfield School later that afternoon.

Grade 6-8 students will return to WS shortly after 11:30 am. They will enjoy their lunch and recess then, followed by some afternoon activities with Mrs. Stevens, Mrs. Shambo, Ms. Brown and Principal Oakman.

Sincerely,

JeanMarie K. Oakman, Principal

Weathersfield School
