As you know, all students, K-8, are completing the Track My Progress assessment in reading and math. The MTSS Leadership Team will disaggregate those scores on October 11, 2018 and recommend TIPS and Homework Support for students in need in grades 1-8. All parents will receive the letter announcing TIPS and HS on October 19th, (in your child's Friday packet, in a sealed envelope). Both programs will begin on November 5, 2018. If parents want to send their children to this FREE supplemental service, (paid for by federal Title 1 funds), please sign the Oct. 19th letter and tear off the bottom to return it to school as soon as possible. We try and break the groups up so that each grade level has the chance to attend at least one ELA or Math class a week in TIPS.
Ms. Kocurek and Mrs. Allen will be teaching the TIPS ELA program and Mrs. Small and Mrs. Allen will be teaching the TIPS Math program. We have two teachers running the Homework Support program, Mrs. Smith and Ms. Powers, so we are able to serve more students each evening in this program.
The two programs will run Monday thru Thursday. TIPS will be from 3:00 to 3:45 pm. Homework Support will be from 3:00 to 4:15 pm. We do not have a late bus any more, so parents will need to pick their child up by 3:45 pm from TIPS or 4:15 pm from Homework Support.
TIPS and HS work very closely with our PAWS program, too.
Students will have recess and a snack from 2:40 to 3:00 pm and then go directly to TIPS or HS.
If we have an early release day, TIPS and HS are cancelled.
If you have questions, please call your child's teacher or Kristen Huebner, Literacy Leader.
