First, let me wish all of our families a happy new year. Tomorrow is expected to be the coldest day so far during this arctic freeze that we have been experiencing. The morning temperature, without the wind chill, is going to be more than 20 degrees below zero. We want to make sure that all buses start properly and that the temperature rises slightly before we start the day. Therefore, all schools in the Windsor Southeast Supervisory Union will be on a 90-minute delay. Please make sure that you plan accordingly.
We also ask that the children be dressed in layers and that hands remain covered in this arctic cold. It takes only 30 minutes at these temperatures to encounter frost bite. Anyone that can bring their children to school tomorrow is strongly encouraged to do so. Our decisions going forward will be made on a day-to-day bases as we watch the forecast very closely. Again, happy new year to all of you and stay warm!
