Five Things

Buy one get one free Book Fair going on all week in the AP Room!

Wipe-Out musical will be performed at 1:00 pm today in the gym.  This is open to the public!

SBAC testing starts tomorrow.  Please make sure all students taking the test arrive on time, rested, and ready, (grades 3-8)!  I have met with every single class to give them a pep talk and get them ready for these important tests.  I sent an informational letter home on Friday about SBACs and NECAPs and you can find another copy here, attached to this news item. PTA is providing a FREE breakfast for all grade 3-8 test takers!  Thank you, PTA!  You are all about the kids and we appreciate it!

We did our monthly lock down drill this morning, (Command:  Clear the Hall Secure the Building).  The entire drill took exactly 2 minutes and the building Crisis Team checked every nook and cranny of the school.  Children were locked into spaces and could not be seen or heard.  The building was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.  After the drill, we congratulated our students, faculty and staff for a safe and secure school.  We make a point of not frightening children by talking about these drills at morning meeting and making fire drills and lock down drills a monthly practice as part of the school's culture.  I am proud to say, we are a safe school!

PTA Penny Sale is this Saturday in the gym.  Doors open at noon and the official start up time is 2:00 pm.  This is one of PTA's major money makers for supporting student class trips, events, opportunities, materials, and more!  Please come out and support our PTA and have a good time!

Happy May and have a lovely week!
Thank you,
JeanMarie
