The Albert Bridge School in Brownsville held their National Geographic School Bee for the students in the 4th through 6th grade on Friday, January 29, 2016.
Twenty-six students participated. The preliminary competition consists of seven rounds. Each student is asked one question per round. Every student has 15 second to give a response to the question. The round progressively get more difficult. A few examples of the round title are; State Savvy, Discover National Parks and Odd One Out
After the preliminary round was completed, nine students advanced to the finals. The final round included: Patrick Kelley 6th, Gail Morse 6th, Joe Shehan 6th, Jade Martens 5th, Maddux Morse 5th, Cameron Briggs 4th and Maggie Mello 4th.
The two students that moved to the championship round were Jade Martens 5th and Maggie Mello 4th. This round consists of three questions. Both students were asked the same question and had to write down their answer. After the round was complete, Jade Martens answered correctly the most answers. We are so proud of Jade!! She will be taking the computerized test to see if she moves on to the State Level
