The May 2015 SBAC test scores are in....and WS did a fantastic job! Principal Oakman will be meeting with every student who took the test over the next 8 days to discuss their individual scores. After this occurs, the students will be bringing home their individual test results and the school's SBAC report in a sealed envelope for parents to see. Don't hesitate to ask your child to interpret the scores for you! Also, Beth Sprague, Guidance Director, and Principal Oakman would love to meet with parents, answer calls and emails to field any questions or concerns you may have. Please feel free to ask questions! Principal Oakman will be reviewing the SBAC assessment at School Report Night in May 2016, with the WS School Board on October 12th and with the WS faculty and staff on October 7, 2015!
NECAP Test Results for Grades 4 and 8 in Science
NECAP test results for grades 4 and 8 in science, taken in last May, will be released from the Agency of Education today. They will embargoed for a while, but when the AOE allows us to share the data, we promise to do so. The same procedure used in sharing SBAC scores will be followed. Principal Oakman is poised, willing and excited to answer any questions on assessment!!
Car Show This Weekend
PTA is sponsoring their annual car show to benefit the 8th grade class trip to Boston. Its from 10 to 2 at the school....come one, come all and have a ball!
We have selected three spots in the woods behind the school to create outdoor classrooms, not just for our Four Winds program, but for science classes, as well. Special thanks to Bryan Woodbury, Asst Chief of Maintenance, who made seats of logs and who designed and created a really cool lab table for one of the outdoor classrooms, complete with shelves, (made out of all scrap materials found in our school garage). The WS School Board is planning a tour of the three outdoor classrooms on Oct 12th at the start of their regularly scheduled meeting, (6:30 pm). Please feel free to come and enjoy!
