Windsor Homecoming, 2015, drew a huge crowd of students, parents, school personnel, alumni and community members. The crowd all had one common interest, to show pride and support for Windsor Schools and Windsor Yellow Jackets Athletics. Windsor's Boys Varsity Soccer team launched off the weekend with a dynamic 1-0 win with 18 seconds left in double overtime. Thanks to Junior, Grady Gillman scoring the winning goal.
Immediately after Friday's game was the annual Homecoming BBQ and Bonfire. This year's event had over 500 participants, most of whom were sporting Green and Gold in support of their beloved Windsor. The Pep Band provided a great performance, including the playing of the Windsor School Song. Coaches and Captains of the Boys Soccer Team, Girls Soccer Team and Boys Football Team all gave a short speech, expressing their pride in Windsor, their commitment to their team and hopes for a weekend of more wins. Well they got their wish!
The Girls Varsity Soccer Team started Saturday's events off with a 2-1 victory over Otter Valley Union High School. Otter Valley started the game with a 1-0 lead, until Windsor Senior, Madeleine Morse scored a goal for the tie. With 2:17 left in the second half, Senior, Emily Williams scored the final goal for the win.
The Boys Varsity Football Team kicked off their Homecoming game at 2:00 pm against the Springfield Cosmos. The Yellow Jackets played four incredible quarters, beating the Cosmos in the end 62-0.
The Windsor High School student body wrapped up what proved to be an incredibly successful weekend with a Freshman reception and Homecoming dance in the schools gymnasium.
