In place of our weekly staff meeting, the last Tuesday of every month is dedicated as a K-12 social where teachers enjoy conversation, snacks, laughs, and the announcing of the two teachers of the month!
This month's teachers of the month are:
Donna goes above and beyond the typical responsibilities of a physical education teacher. She regularly organizes activities and events that promote healthy living. This year alone she has secured another round of the Fruits and Vegetables Grant, which provides daily fruit for snacks, and allowed the elementary school to host Veggie Palooza. She brought the Vermont Bike Trailer to the elementary school to teach bike safety to elementary aged students. She assisted Jen Townsend in organizing the National Walk To School Day. She also worked with elementary teachers to organize a soccer celebration as part of their PBIS, positive reinforcement system for meeting the school wide expectations. She has already organized a multitude of healthy events for the remainder of the year, including Turkey Trot, a unit on Cross Country Skiing, and Mountain Day.
As a new teacher, Patrick has transitioned into the Windsor School community very nicely. He brought with him a strong background in best instructional practices, which is apparent in his day to day teaching. Patrick is a member of the MTSS Targeted Team, and recently helped organize a Primary Number and Operations Assessment (PNOA) for our K-2 math teachers, which will become part of their Common Assessment. He has also agreed to be one of our track and field coaches. He has many innovative ideas for improving instructional practice and supporting our students.
