Windsor Homecoming 2014 brought forth an amazing display of Yellow Jacket spirit and pride with an outstanding representation of students, faculty, families, alumni and community members!
The Girls Varsity Field Hockey Team opened the weekend with a victorious 3-1 win against Rutland High School. Following the field hockey game, Windsor athletes, students, families and fans joined together for a BBQ, which was sponsored and supported by the Elks and the Boosters. The newly regenerated spirit of the pep band, under the direction of Katelyn Robarge, gave a remarkable performance, including entertaining us with the school song. Then the bonfire was lit and spectators converged to celebrate the upcoming weekend sports events with a whole team cheer off by the varsity athletic teams.
This year’s crowned Homecoming Queen was Ester Peters, senior and captain of the girls varsity soccer team that had a dynamic win Saturday morning against the Black River Presidents, 6-3. The Homecoming King was Peter Jaarsma, senior and captain of the boys varsity football team who put in a strong effort against their winning opponents from Fairfax.
In a late afternoon game, the Boys Varsity Soccer Team won in overtime, 2-1, against Bellows Falls. The weekend was wrapped up by the induction of alumni at the Wall of Fame ceremony, which was organized by the Alumni Association and hosted by Bob Hingston, Windsor Dean of Students. Thank you to everyone for coming out to join us for a successful Homecoming and for volunteering your time to support our schools!
