Fifth and sixth grade science students have welcomed Miss Julia Bradley-Cook into their classroom this year. Miss Julia is a 4th year graduate student from Dartmouth in the Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Program. Miss Julia and Mrs. DeSchamp are partnering this year through the GK-12 Program at Dartmouth to develop inquiry-based activities designed to increase student's understanding of and interest in science. Graduate Fellows and Partner Teachers collaborate to develop or improve science lessons that incorporate strategies shown to foster creativity and communication. So far, our students have gone to Paradise Park to take soil samples and observe living organisms interacting with the water and soil. Students also have used microscopes to observe water invertebrates, soil horizons, leaves, and flowers from Paradise Park in a classroom lab.
