HES Athletic Eligibility

Now that we are in full swing with athletics, I wanted to share a few things with you. Eligibility was just checked on 10/2/14.  If your child had either one F or two D's, they were given an eligibility form which they should have brought home and had signed. The form states which class or classes they may be having difficulty in. Grades will be checked again on October 16, 2014 and every two weeks thereafter.

This year we have a three level eligibility process. The first level is called the Warning list.   Students are given a warning that they need to work on certain areas. They can still practice and compete in games. The second level is the Probationary level. If a student is on the probationary list they can attend practices, but are not able to compete in games. The third level is the Ineligible list. When a student is on the ineligible list, he/she cannot participate in practices or games. Each level lasts for two weeks. When grades are re-checked and they do not have either one F or two D's, then they go back to normal status. If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them for you.

I also want to let you know that I will be hosting a Middle School Athletic Forum on Wednesday November 5th at 6:00 pm. Agenda items will be Middle School athletics and possibly a concussion training session. I hope to see you there.
