SSS Kandinsky Tree

Our K-1 students are working on a collaborative project inspired by the Russian abstract painter, Wassily Kandinsky. Late in his life, Kandinsky focused more on lines, curves, angles, and geometric shapes. The kids are working on multiple tasks for this project which include: holding a cardboard circle with one hand and tracing it with the other hand, creating a variety of lines and shapes while using an array of colors, using scissors to cut on a curved line, and glueing. Their artwork can be seen as the abstract leaves that adorn the tree exhibited in the State Street K-1 hallway.
