At the end of last school year, the West Windsor School Board made the hard decision to cut the hot lunch program, based on use, cost, and changing regulations. This school year we are trying something different. We will start the year using community help to provide a school lunch to every child who wants or needs one.
We will begin the first full week of school, September 4-7, with a lunch that would consist of a sandwich, snack, and a fruit or veggie, working up to whatever Butcher and Pantry can provide once it’s up and running. Cost of these lunches would be $3.00 per day, and would remain at that level throughout the year. Students approved for Free or reduced milk will also qualify for for free or reduced lunch once we start the program, thanks to a generous donation of support by the Byrne Foundation. Lunches will be available to all students.
If you can help provide sandwiches, please let us know. This is a group effort until the store opens up.
